[ Gallery Libby Sellers ] presents HOT TOOLS, an exhibition of exquisite and intrepid glass works by the Product Design Master’s students of ECAL, the University of Art and Design Lausanne.
The exhibition is the culmination of a student workshop led by designer Ronan Bouroullec and glassblower Matteo Gonet featuring works by eight graduate designers: Rita Botelho, Diane du Chaxel, Sarha Duquesne, Philipp Grundhöfer, Felix Klingmüller, Charles Mathis, Giulio Parini and Jung-Cheng Su. The designers’ brief was to challenge conventions of glass making and the types of objects that such extraordinary processes and inventive thinking would yield. A selection of the works will be available to purchase through the gallery.
The exhibition will continue throughout the London Design Festival and will be open late for a special evening viewing on the 19th September from 6 – 9pm. Join us then to celebrate this and a special LDF installation by [ Peter Marigold ] for cashmere house Oyuna. The installation has been created to bring alive the beauty and artisan craftsmanship of the cashmere pieces while capturing the brand’s Mongolian nomadic spirit.

Gallery Libby Sellers presents Swiss designer Nicolas Le Moigne’s first solo-show in London.
Le Moigne’s award-winning designs in lighting, product and furniture show an understanding of, and capacity for, complexity and contrast: seemingly fragile yet resilient, at once organic yet also industrial, assuredly sophisticated yet without guile. The exhibition will offer an insight into this world of juxtaposition through a selection of works from the last five years alongside new designs commissioned exclusively for the gallery. With thanks to ECAL, Eternit, HELMRINDERKNECHT Gallery, A. E. Koechert and NextLevel Galerie

8 february > 8 march 2012 | london
The first solo-show in London by Swiss designer Nicolas le Moigne, opens 8 February 2012, at Gallery Libby Sellers.
Following his graduation in product design from ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne in 2007, le Moigne has gone on to create award-winning designs that can be described as a celebration of juxtaposition. His work in lighting, product and furniture shows an understanding of, and capacity for, complexity and contrast: seemingly fragile yet resilient, at once artisnal yet also industrial, assuredly sophisticated yet without guile.
This equanimity has brought le Moigne, now a professor at ECAL, to the attention of both industrial companies such as Eternit or Atelier Pfister and design galleries in Paris, Berlin and Mexico. Sellers and le Moigne have been working to produce new designs since his graduation, however to offer an overview of his work since 2007 the London exhibition will also include limited edition designs commissioned for NextLevel Galerie in Paris and Helmrinderknecht in Berlin. The exhibition will include the debut of le Moigne’s leather Slip stool, alongside jewellery for the Austrian firm A.E.Koechert, seating for Eternit, and a selection from the Podium and Materia collections.
For four years Gallery Libby Sellers was “pop-up.” This freshly minted permanent space opened on 8 September in advance of the London Design Festival and the Nicolas le Moigne solo show will be their 4th exhibition.
