spacebuster kicks off “we like america” tour in chicago.
beginning tonight, spacebuster–a temporary architectural structure with the ability to transform public spaces into impromptu community zones–kicks off its month-long “we like america” tour in chicago, for the 2017 chicago architectural biennial.
spacebuster comes to the u.s from germany, and will take up residence in the hub of chicago’s thriving artistic south side neighborhood, bridgeport, a/k/a “the community of the future”. lodged in front of the popular community bar, maria’s, local artists will be invited to spontaneously participate and collaborate with spacebuster creators, urban design collective, raumlaborberlin. also on the program: an experimental music pop-up lab featuring guests from the chicago avant-garde music scene—and automaten, a piano playing robot.
