IKEA France has installed a temporary apartment in the Parisian metro for five people to live for six days. Operation ‘The IKEA Apartment—54 square-meter ideas to life’ takes place in a 54 square-meter apartment in the Paris’ Auber subway station. The apartment, developed by creative agency Ubi Bene, is to show Parisians that with IKEA, small spaces can be optimized and be comfortably lived in. From 9 to 14 January 2012, Auber metro station passers-by would be able to see the five housemates and their daily activities from morning to night. The model apartment is fully furnished and equipped with IKEA items, and the roommates would demonstrate to the public/viewers the functionality and ingenuity of IKEA’s space-saving solutions.
