marilyn is unveiled!
The inspiration is the famous subway-grate stance as captured in “The Seven Year Itch,” and created by New Jersey-based artist Seward Johnson. Location, Pioneer Court, (400 block of North Michigan Avenue.) Why this statue in this venue? Don’t know. But it’s neat.
Titled “Forever Marilyn” the stainless steel and aluminum sculpture stands 26 feet tall and weighs 34,000 pounds and will remain on display in Chicago through the spring of 2012.
