in conversation with paola navone at silvera. london design festival 2019.

Sep 16, 2019

continuing its tradition of hosting designer talks in it’s exquisitely designed king’s road showroom for the past two london design festivals; a programme which to-date has involved a number of prolific designers including bethan laura wood, patricia urquiola, federico pepe and cc-tapis, for this year’s show silvera is delighted to announce that it will play host to an intimate talk with globally-acclaimed designer and architect paola navone on monday 16th september.

for london design festival 2019, and celebrating her ongoing relationship with renowned italian design house, baxter, navone will discuss the process behind the many number of iconic products and spaces which have been born out of her fifteen year collaboration with the brand.

chaired by design editor becky sunshine, the talk will look back at navone’s extraordinary career and the cultural influences that have shaped her work. inspired by her travels all over the world, particularly to asia and africa, navone is widely recognized as a global designer. navone will also delve into the themes explored in her recent book tham ma da: the adventurous interiors of paola navone, exploring how she incorporates ‘tham ma da’, the thai concept which takes something ordinary and presents it in a new and exciting way, in her projects and design pieces.

as a stockist of baxter furniture, including a number of pieces which navone has designed for the brand, silvera will present a never-before-seen baxter showcase across its ground floor.

monday 16th september
arrival: 5.30pm
talk starts: 6pm
aperitivo: from 6.45pm until late

ajour chair next by paola navone for gervasoni. milan design week 2019.

Apr 9, 2019

this year paola navone decided to complete the family of ajour furniture for gervasoni. the new design chair next will be featured at milan furniture fair isaloni 2019, it suits perfectly with the carve07 collection presented by gervasoni last year in milan, at the isaloni 2018 fair.

cast polished aluminium chair, base in grey lacquered oak. the seat characterized by macro holes is tied to the frame only by thin supports and seems to flow in the air. the polished surface reflects light and the colors around taking on different unexpected looks

the mirror polished surface of the chair reflects the light and colors around, so the chair, like a chameleon, always takes different images.
