chicago’s largest multimedia art installation, 150 media stream, opened to the public on 21 april at 150 north riverside, an innovative award-winning 54-story office tower located along the chicago river. a swimming pool-like device within the tiny foot-printed building keeps things stabilized.
the installation, divided into 89 led blades, staggered in height and width, that are 150 feet long and 22 feet high, showcases commissioned works from distinguished artists and from students whose collaborative projects were done in classes sponsored by riverside.

john ronan faia is founding principal of john ronan architects in chicago, founded in 1999. his firm has been the recipient of two aia institute national honor awards—for the poetry foundation and the gary comer youth center, both in chicago, and is a finalist firm for the obama presidential center.
john is currently professor of architecture at the illinois institute of technology college of architecture, where he has taught since 1992.
