our next jam in chicago will be october 13th in celebration of manufacturing day!
join us as we partner with cmmc and highlight women in metals, with a focus on women owned manufacturers, designers, entrepreneurs and makers. we will jam around matot, the nation’s last commercial dumbwaiter producer, family owned since 1888. learn about their history in chicago and their vision for the future as well as a look at women in manufacturing and design today.
icnc, a small business and manufacturing incubator on chicago’s west side, will be graciously hosting us.
we look forward to seeing you there!
wouldn’t it be great to see more products made locally? what better way to understand how to design for local manufacturing than to actually watch the machines in action? how can we as designers better understand the business of a manufacturer so that we can work more closely together?
so many questions that we can answer in one event- a factory tour!
our upcoming women in metals jam manufacturer matot, the nation’s largest commercial dumbwaiter manufacturer, is women owned and has been in chicago since 1888. we invite you to join us in touring their manufacturing plant and discussing how designers and manufacturers can work more closely together over lunch. please rsvp to let us know you can make it!
