on saturday, november 12 pratt institute will host its annual open studios in the new pfizer building location of its m.f.a. program in fine arts, allowing the public to witness the creative process of students firsthand. the program draws students from around the globe and offers concentrations ranging from painting and drawing to sculpture, printmaking, photography, and integrated practices such as public installation and performance art. open studios allows visitors to see the m.f.a. program’s new 33,000 square feet of brightly lit and freshly renovated space, including 81 student studios, critique spaces, and fabrication shops, while looking behind the scenes at the artistic activity of pratt’s brilliant student artists as they conceive and execute new works.
