continuing its tradition of hosting designer talks in it’s exquisitely designed king’s road showroom for the past two london design festivals; a programme which to-date has involved a number of prolific designers including bethan laura wood, patricia urquiola, federico pepe and cc-tapis, for this year’s show silvera is delighted to announce that it will play host to an intimate talk with globally-acclaimed designer and architect paola navone on monday 16th september.
for london design festival 2019, and celebrating her ongoing relationship with renowned italian design house, baxter, navone will discuss the process behind the many number of iconic products and spaces which have been born out of her fifteen year collaboration with the brand.
chaired by design editor becky sunshine, the talk will look back at navone’s extraordinary career and the cultural influences that have shaped her work. inspired by her travels all over the world, particularly to asia and africa, navone is widely recognized as a global designer. navone will also delve into the themes explored in her recent book tham ma da: the adventurous interiors of paola navone, exploring how she incorporates ‘tham ma da’, the thai concept which takes something ordinary and presents it in a new and exciting way, in her projects and design pieces.
as a stockist of baxter furniture, including a number of pieces which navone has designed for the brand, silvera will present a never-before-seen baxter showcase across its ground floor.
