With winter fast approaching birdhouses have caught my eye.[ Nendo ] has designed a bird apartment house for the Momofuku Ando Center, an organization promoting increased access to nature. The house has 78 nest spaces. A little unique in concept is this birdhouse also accommodates one person to keep tabs on the birds from inside the house. The access for this person is on the backside of the birdhouse. Video surveillance presumably not an option.
In Chicago along the lakefront there are many multi-family bird houses. They seem very popular and fully occupied. These homes are raised and lowered via a rope and a crank.
