Shoe giant [ adidas ] is about to release three new shoes in what it is referring to as its “natural running collection.” The shoes (back to front) are the Adapt (4mm heel-toe-drop), Gazelle (7mm), and Motion (11mm), and the three shoes allow for a step-down approach to running in less shoe. Should your goal be to eventually run in a zero-drop shoe? Running experts say that a minimal heel-toe drop of about 3-5mm (or less) clearly reduces the torque and impact forces on the body while also enhancing a runner’s stability. It’s important to know that a runner needs to work on strength and form drills to get into a shoe with a lower drop, otherwise risk prolonged soreness or injury. Bottom line is that it’s different for every runner.

360 barefoot running shoe. Zemgear.

Nov 15, 2011

here’s a shoe for runners who don’t “do” shoes.

Zemgear says… “The 360 is the feather light star of ZEMs barefoot collection. The design weighs in at 2.5 oz and is equipped with a pliable but abrasion robust phylon outsole ideal for runners. Integrated gecko grip rubber pods add traction & secure footing. An updated tech band design contributes increased lateral hold and stability. The split toe pattern and the high “mold-ability” of all materials maximize barefoot agility for many activities”. Price tag: $60. Enjoy!” [ zemgear ] [ review by barefoot angie bee ]
