this year visitors will experience creative vignettes in three boldly colored rooms and can delve deeper with displays exhibiting the process and intention put into every carnegie fabrics product. included are high-performance knits, coated fabrics and acoustic panels.
xorel knit: a breakthrough material that leverages the high-performance characteristics of xorel with the application versatility of a knitted textile. this new construction is the first time carnegie has offered a xorel material engineered specifically to upholster, with the stretch and recover requirements that many modern furniture pieces demand.
expanded upholstery: carnegie is embarking on upholstery expansion initiatives, starting with the release of three new high-performance coated fabrics. as weavers and makers of primarily woven textiles, carnegie’s designers saw a tremendous opportunity to create a fabric that designers would prefer to specify, which is typically woven, but that would also meet the strenuous demands of use.
xorel artform baffles: high-performance, acoustic panels that enable distinctive design statements to be made from above. instead of being limited to a monolithic material or simply a graphic color story, xorel artform baffles are fully upholstered and offer the freedom to design unique compositions, with hundreds of color, texture, and pattern options.

vitra’s neocon launches aim to improve the quality of offices and public spaces through the power of design using extensive research on trends and new ways of working. barber & osgerby’s soft work makes the case that the sofa is the new desk; the rookie chair by konstantin grcic is an unconventionally simple chair, meant to be agile and flexible within environments designed to encourage the creation and exchange of ideas. and finally, dancing wall, a mobile partition that can be used to flexibly divide an office space into zones, while also providing a vertical work surface.

arper is participating in neocon 2019 at the brand’s new permanent showroom #349.
arper’s expanded footprint in the building, at 2,145 square feet comparing to the previous 1,700 square feet, is a reflection of the brand’s recent growth in the u.s. “we see incredible potential in the u.s. as one of the fastest growing markets for design and workspace needs worldwide,” said claudio feltrin, chairman of the board at arper.
the new showroom presents a range of commercial environments – geared to office, lounge and learning spaces – in alignment with arper’s human-centric approach to design.
the company will communicate its interpretation of the evolution of everyday life and workspaces, and tracing a new direction embodied in the “soft(er)” concept — our lives are stretched by a sense of all-at-once-ness.
in response, we seek out people, places, and things that keep us grounded. we keep things close. we search out comfort, convenience and clarity. we look for flexible spaces that support our needs intuitively, materials and forms that feel good, environments that put us at ease so we can get to the business of living. each in our own way, we are looking for something soft, softer, in a world that at times seems rough around the edges.
from arper’s earliest days, the softer approach to living, learning, and working has framed everything the company created. arper’s families of products are manifestations of essential human values – connection, sensitivity, comfort and ease. arper’s neocon presentation is a visual interpretation of the soft(er) concept by showcasing products with soft materials, welcoming shapes, and soothing colors.
