As the year’s first trade fair for the sector, the Heimtextil presents not only the latest products and concepts for interior design with textiles but also the trends for the coming season. Every year, Heimtextil invites designers to select the most important themes from the broad spectrum of trends. For the coming year, Heimtextil’s Trend Book ‘Being’ for the 2013–2014 season will be presented—spotlighting the home as the aspect of personality, showcasing four unique character themes: ‘the historian’, ‘the eccentric’, ‘the inventor’ and ‘the geologist.’ Heimtextil will also confer for the first time, the Young Creations Award: Upcycling—for innovation in recycling interiors and promoting the principle of sustainability. Heimtextil, held annually for four days in January, is the largest international trade fair for home and contract textiles and the global benchmark for quality design textiles of innovative functionality. As the first trade fair of the year, it is a kick-starter platform for manufacturers, retailers and designers to showcase trends for the new season.
