While we’re all for crisp, straight lines and sharp 90-degree angles, it’s fun and refreshing to leave our German sides behind once in awhile and embrace the curve. One stunningly good example of this departure are Alex Haws’ staircases, designed by Atmos Studio. They may look hand-carved but these wooden wonders are created entirely with computer technology, from design to production. Still, the wavy, undulating shapes call to mind natural forms like trees and are also reminiscent of a decidedly computer-less era, namely Art Nouveau and Gaudi’s work in Barcelona in the late 1800s.
