I like magazines and newspapers, i.e., print. Through the course of a day however, I probably spend more time online. Typically, when not twittering or scanning feeds, I'm reading print first then going online to the magazine's site then following related stories.

A magazine of I.D.'s achievement shutting down is worrisome. Will it happen to FastCompany, Wired, Details, Dwell, Good, Metropolis, WallPaper, Architectural Digest, Business Week, New York Times, Slate, WSJ, Vanity Fair, Vogue? I don't believe print per se will die in my lifetime but worried about my favorite reads dying before their time.

I really don't know about these things but it seems at this moment of time the fault lies with management and/or having a less-than-passionate or ill-fitting investor group. Does this bode well for Print and How?

It also seems most of the above magazines have lower subscription rates — pricier subscriptions include I.D., How, Print, WallPaper — and a broader base of content while remaining faithful to their core niche.
