Calatrava presented in Chicago ten years ago at the Art Institute of Chicago. I go to many architectural lectures and his was different. Way ahead of his time. He showed his concepts via a video. That's because many of his structures are kinetic, they move, they morph. I don't remember where it was but one sculpture in a plaza morphed into a subway tunnel during rush hour.

i remember seeing Calatrava's bridges in Spain. They were white and feathery against the backdrop of the hills. A whole new meaning to bridge-making. It made me think that anything could become beautiful if created by an artist. Sorry about the Spire, it looks beautiful too.
